If you do choose to download and use the new client, you must have or install as a minimum the core of Internet Explorer 3.02 (6Mb) We recommend Internet Explorer 4.0 (12Mb) , but it's up to you.

Note: once you have installed Internet Explorer, you do not have to make this your default browser.

If you're not sure if you have Internet Explorer installed, but want the new GamesGrid client, then download and install GamesGrid, and run it. If you don't get any error messages, then you're fine. If GamesGrid can't find Internet Explorer, it will tell you, and send you back here to download Internet Explorer.

Acckkk - what if I want the old client!

Ok, no problem ... that's ok with us ... just as long as YOU are ok ...

The download and install details ...

  1. Check to make sure you have the minimum requirements to run our client software:
    • Windows 95 or NT (3.51 or higher)
    • 8 MB of System Memory
    • 4 MB of Hard Disk Space
    • A TCP/IP connection to the Internet (either SLIP, PPP or a direct Network connection)
    • A modem (9600 baud minimum) or direct Internet connection
  2. When you click on the download button at the top of this page, a dialog will allow you to save the file on your hard drive. Save the GamesGrid software in an appropriate directory so that you can find it easily in the future.
  3. When the download is complete, double click on the GamesGrid file that you have just saved to your local hard drive. The installation will then begin and will guide you through the set up and account creation process.
  4. Once you have entered the GamesGrid, the opening screen offers a match board. The match board lists all players who are currently ready to play, their ratings and experience level. You can invite players to join you in a game by sending messages to any user, broadcasting to all players on the match board, or by waiting until another player asks you for a game. Once an invitation to play has been accepted, your game will begin! After each game your rating will be adjusted to reflect the outcome of the match and you will be returned to the match board find a new opponent.
