Match #9 -Paul Magriel (X22) and Michael Meyburg (michaelm) met on December 3, 1997 to play a 15 point match. Kit Woolsey, Johannes Levermann, Elliott Winslow and Erik Seidel joined host Ken Arnold and other experts to provide insightful commentary. This match contains a large number of difficult and unusual positions. The match is being analyzed by several players.

Match #8 - Peter Jes Thomsen (PeterJesThomsen), who won the World Championship in 1983 and then finished second in the same tournament a year later, goes head-to-head with Micheal Meyburg (michaelm) who is the 1993 World Champion.

Match #7 - Paul Magriel and Mike Svobodny -- two giants of BG -- played this 7 point match on September 15, 1997 on the GamesGrid server. The match is commentated by Kit Woolsey and Kent Goulding. Magriel has been the leading theorist of backgammon for over 25 years and continues to add to the largest collection of tournament victories of any player. Svobo is the legendary traveling pro who is known as the ultimate money player. He is rarely seen playing in tournaments, but has managed to win every major event in the world including the World Championship, The World Cup and the Nordic Wide Open.

Match #3 - The CyberArts GamesGrid is pleased to offer it's users the chance to view a set of recorded matches between Paul Magriel (X22) and Donald Kahn (deekay) played on the server May 20, 1997.

Match #2 - The annotation for this game was provided by Kit Woolsey. The game is from the 1996 World Cup V in Dallas featuring Bill Robertie and Malcolm Davis.

How to use the annonated match files

Annoated matches have been recorded into a GamesGrid archive file. To view them you must download the achived match file and load it into your GamesGrid software. Here are detailed instructions:

1. Dowload the archive file and extract it to the SaveGame folder found within your GamesGrid directory. If you preformed a default installation of GamesGrid, this will be found at c:\Program Files\GamesGrid\SaveGame\
2. Open the GamesGrid client. Choose "Open recorded match" from the File menu. In the box that appears, locate the file you just extracted. Click on the appropriate file name, and press "Open".
3. Use the forward arrow on the toolbar to step through the match move by move. Each player's turn will be played out for you on the board at the left and any annotations will be displayed in the chat box in the lower right hand corner.

The game is from the 1994 World Cup and features Billy Horan, winner of the competition, and Evert Van Eijck, one of Europe's top players. This is the first game of an 11-point match.
